Accepting friendship

One problem with owning an old sports car is that they need a lot more TLC than a modern ordinary car. That’s not to say they can’t be reliable. It’s just that it takes a lot of work to get it to first get it to that stage!

And when you live in a flat with one garage, it is just not possible to keep two cars. So the sports car that keeps having issues means it interrupts life when you need a car. Like for taking my synthesizor to church.

When we are used to relying on our own cars, it can be hard to accept car-oriented hospitality from someone else. I know I find it difficult. So when I called up the worship leader for this morning and told him the bad news, he said he could come around and pick me and all my stuff up.

I was a little surprised, to be honest. And a little humbled.

Said person is only a fairly recent Christian, unlike me. I think there’s a perspective on life I should perhaps pay a little more attention to.
